Cookies we use

These are strictly necessary — the portal cannot sign you in or keep you secure without them, so there is nothing to opt out of.

Name	Purpose	Lifetime
`token`	Keeps you signed in after you log in. Stored as an HTTP-only cookie (it cannot be read by scripts in the browser) so your session can't be hijacked from the page.	Expires after a period of inactivity, and at most 8 hours after signing in — then you sign in again.
`device_token`	Only set for the principal/administrator accounts, and only if you tick “Trust this device for 30 days” during two-factor sign-in, so that device can skip the code next time.	30 days, or until you remove the device or turn off two-factor authentication.

Theme preference (`localStorage`)	Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode on this device.
Reference cache (`sessionStorage`)	Briefly caches lists like classes and subjects for the current tab to make pages load faster. Cleared when you close the tab.
